"Sawadee Kah" SOLD!Commissioned pieceI posted this piece to give you an idea of "a work in progress". It is a piece that I am in the process of making for a very sweet little 17 yr old girl as a gift for her Birthday. You will notice that it is unfinished but serves as a good example of how I go about creating a piece.
Sawadee Kah is Thai for "Hello"! The stones are Garnet for her Birthday which is in January, Labradorite, because it is a beautiful accent stone for the red of the garnet and little Hill Tribe Silver beads. I will post the finished piece as soon as it is ready!!
"Lahu" SOLD!
Lahu or Musoe is a Hill Tribe that migrated from Tibet to nothern Thailand during the past 200 years or so. The pendant and silver beads in this piece are again from these Hill Tribe peoples.
The other stones are fantastically beautiful, deep purple Amethysts. Each stone is hand cut into rondelle or wheel shapes, not one stone is the same as the next making it incredibley unique.
Being an Aquarian, a lover of Amethysts plus a lover of the colour purple this piece is personally very special.
Amethyst: Color (Purple violet to deep purple)

"Happenstance" SOLD!
Happenstance is truly a treasured piece of mine! It is made from very rare Antique hand made Silver beads thought to be approximately 300 years old that I happened upon in an Antique shop in Bangkok. I was absolutley ecstatic when I discovered these treasures as they are impossible to find! If you look carefully (the photos can be enlargened by clicking on them) you will see that not one silver bead is exactly the same as the next, adding to it's uniqueness and authenticity! The lime/yellow or apple green beads are Jade facetted into fabulous teardrops shapes that I also found in Bangkok.

The Lapis, which is tumbled and very smooth and matt in finish, is again from Bangkok. The silver components are from an Antique Silver Shop in Bangkok and I believe they are from Bali. The centre stone in the pendant is also Lapis, but is highly polished, in contrast to the beads, radiating the brilliance of the Lapis rich blue colour. The pendant is an Antique pill box which opens from the back, a truly unique piece!
Lapis Lazuli: This stone is used at the Ajina, the Brow Chakra. It's related gland is the pituitary. The pituitary gland is also referred to as the "master gland" because it regulates all of the others. This location is also the center for the eyes, ears, nose and brain. 6th chakra (third eye) Changes negative views of reality to positive views. Cleanses the mental body while releasing old karmic patterns. Lapis facilitates deep meditation and can be used to journey back into past lives. Lapis Lazuli is a very spiritual stone, which can also be used in ceremonies. It allows this spiritual energy to be absorbed into your aura.

This piece is named after the mountains in Northern Thailand that I was fortunate enough to have treked through this past year visiting the various ethnic minorities living in these mountainous regions of Northern Thailand. These minorities are commonly know as the Hill Tribe Peoples or in the Thai vernacular : chao khao( mountain peoples) . To my disbelief and ignorance (as I had no idea there exisited such a classification) they have been deemed fourth world peoples in that they belong neither to the main aligned powers nor to the developing nations. These 10 know tribes, possibly up to 20 Tribes total, have crossed borders settling in the mountains in Northern Thailand, fleeing oppression by other cultures in their native lands without regard for nationhood. These Hill Tribes originate mainly from Tibet, Mynamar, China and Laos. All the outstanding silver components in "Phu Ping" were hand made by these remarkable Hill Tribe peoples.
These tribespeoples are highly skilled Silver Smith experts which helps sustain their livelihood, along with rice , corn, livestock and Opium!! Some of these tribes are know to be the largest Opium producers in the world........ however I thought I would pass on the Opium and focus on their silver work!!!!
All the silver components in this piece and most of my other pieces come directly from these amazing Hill Tribe communities.
The orange brown stone is actually a very rare and highly unusual Jade that I purchased whilst in in Bangkok, again during my outstanding "Odyssey" last year.
